Gender Studies: Chris Susi I.M.A
Welcome!
My name is Chris Susi. I am a recent graduate of Rhode Island College with an Individualized Master's Of Art in the study of oppression and resistance theory. My focus specifically addressed the relationships between Race, Class, Gender, and Sexual Orientation. I also hold a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Gender and Women's Studies from Rhode Island College, where I was awarded the Gender and Women's Studies Award for Scholarship and Activism, as well as the Outstanding Graduate Student Leadership Award. You can see the rest of my curriculum vitae below.
In an effort to encapsulate the material and skills of these two degrees, and prepare to teach this content at the Undergraduate level, I designed this website. There are three courses represented here. The first is an introduction to Gender and Women's Studies. The second is an advanced Gender and Women's Studies course focusing on Teenagers and the Media. The third is a hypothetical course design for another advanced Gender and Women's Studies course looking at gender identity and sexual orientation in the United States, which I would like to teach in the future.
This page is designed to provide visitors from future semesters with everything needed to be successful in my Gender Studies courses. You will be able to find the syllabus, course readings, tips for blog assignments, past student reviews, and current gender and women's studies events/issues.
Despite the best intentions, I recognize that I cannot cover all of the tools needed for each individual student within the context of this site. So, if you need or want support in an area you do not find here, please DO NOT hesitate to ask. Email will result in the most timely response at [email protected].
